Installed some programs I like:

Uninstall programs I don't use:
Thunderbird
Gwibber
Empathy
Tomboy
Banshee
Ubuntu One

Tweaks:
Config. software sources, download updates and restart
Change system settings (time to 24h, show day, install printer etc)
Reduce size of Launcher icons to 32
Reduce size of fonts to 9
Freeze launcher to not autohide
Download wallpapers

and many many more

I counted that I need about 2 hours to install 11.10 and render it to my needs.

To be fair they're just personal preferences! I don't know about you but whatever OS I use I spend a bit of time to tailor it to fit my personal tastes.

You're right, you should practice your tweaking first before trying to demonstrate it on prime time television. When you can perform those tweaks in under 30 minutes (length of a normal TV show) you're ready. Just keep practicing and you'll have it down in no time, like me

After the Upgrade process completed, it took me about 45 minutes, but I uninstall quite a few of the native apps like Evolution, Gwibber and such... And I have a pretty damned personalized desktop and software selection. Even got me some themes for Gnome Shell.

11.10 runs like a dream so far... At least for me. Don't really understand all the complaints I've been seeing.

none. 11.04 didnt work for me so i installed zorin instead.

What I always do in every Ubuntu release:

Add icons to contextual menus.-- So, now I have icons even in Global Menu. Very handy!

In my opinion, this should be the default. Menus without icons makes it hard to find the desired option.
