    missing poweroff option

    somtimes when i boot ubuntu the power off menu at the top right corner is missing and forces me to resort to "sudo shutdown now", does anyone know what causes this problem?

    you should be able to see a "shut down" in System menu .... if not you can add a button by rt. clicking on the top bar and adding to panel .

    To confirm, I have ad this happen too. I also have to "sudo shutdown now"
    - "Make me a coffee..."
    - "No"
    - "sudo make me a coffee"
    - "OK"

    I have this problem as well, though I was not aware of the shutdown now commands. I'd either set it to shut down in a minute, or simply press the power button on my tower, which brings up a menu asking whether you want to shut down, restart, etc.
