    SAMBA unleased to the NET

    At present I have SAMBA on the LAN hiding behind a firewall. An idea come to mind, why not use the machine on the net, as a backup destination.

    Any suggestions?

    There are better protocols for that use. Like SSH (SFTP). Just make sure you configure it to use another port than the default.
