You mean this post here? Awesome! Thank you!

While you're here I have JUST installed Lubuntu 11.10 erasing my old Jaunty 9.04 Ubuntu that has been running since on this old Toshiba since ... April 2009!

It boots in ~47 seconds. Sweet.

Question: what is the easiest way to get rid of all the Penguin games? Can I do it in one go? (Hope so!)

If I'm not mistaken, this is the package:
    Code:
    ace-of-penguins

You're not mistaken. That was the one -- and they're gone! Again, many thanks to the energy you're giving Lubuntu. MUCH appreciated!

Now if only I could edit my profile ... but apparently I have to get up to 50 posts before I can do that! Could be a while that it reads "Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty" instead of "Lubuntu 11.10 Oneiric". :/ Hey ho.

At your service and anyone else who is using Lubuntu. The greatest and the best OS IMHO

Yeah, you need to have 50 posts so you can change your Avatar or put one and change other stuff.

Yep! I was confident that Lubuntu could help, and I was so pleased that it did the trick!
I think Lubuntu is a very useful and solid distro for folk with older machines, who want an up-to-date and reliable operating system.

What are the specifications of your machine?
I'm on another machine as i type this, but specs as here:
    http://www.laptopshop.co.uk/toshiba-..._laptop-rf.htm
although the ram has been upped to 768mb

Why you want to do that? two good reasons:

1- When you do that yourself, you will learn and that information will stick in your mind and you will never forget it. It's the best way of learning - this is how I learned almost everything by myself.

2- Helping others by advices, guides, etc. We need to help Linux Community to grow bigger and be better. For me, I see it's my duty to return the favour to Linux (which gave me a solid amazing OS to use and changed my entire life) by helping its users.

I hope you see my point
LOL! Okay, i'll go with Xara and report back.

    Cheers for all your help!

HOW TO Search for Lubuntu Threads on Ubuntu Forum?

HOW TO Search for Lubuntu Threads on Ubuntu Forum?

    • From your User CP Page, Click on Search and then Advanced Search
    • You could use the first box on the left "Search by Keyword". Just type "Lubuntu" then Search Now.
    • You could also use another Search Options. However, please note that some users, by mistake, choose for example [lubuntu] prefix while their thread is talking about Ubuntu. Some other users may use [ubuntu] prefix but their thread is talking about Lubuntu.
    • You could also use "Search by Tag".

    Please see the attached Screenshots.

If you couldn't find what you are looking for on Post #3 on this thread, please search the forum as explained above.

In General, you could also use: www.googlubuntu.com which will send you back to the forum in most cases
