The script works fine, best solution ever seen for the touchpad.
It works in full installation on HD.
The last line (step 2) has to be done as user, not root.
On my McBook June 2006 the tricks above did not work.

I found another fdi-file for the synaptics touchpad, which seemed to override fdi-files in...
