    Got it!

    I deleted the insmod line and the search line. Also, the initrd line had the word "initrd" twice whoops.

    Here's the final that works:


    set root='(hd0,1)'
    linux...

    It doesn't like /dev/sda3, says bad block, but it does like...

    It boots CentOS, makes it down to:


    VFS: Cannot open root device "LABEL=/" or unknown-block(0,0)
    Please append a correct "root=" boot option

    Thanks for the suggestions. I moved the grub.cfg file, and re-ran the "grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg", and in the file it generated, no mention of CentOS, even though it detected...
