[ubuntu] Re: Failure to lookup certain websites

I know that the DNS servers are not at fault as every other device on the network uses the same DNS servers set by the router.

It's not a web server issue for the above same reason......

[ubuntu] Failure to lookup certain websites

Got a strange problem here, on of my machines (64 bit running 13.04) frequently struggles to lookup my own websites (hosted with namecheap if that's of any significance)
    Yesterday, the machine...

I've been scratching my head for a while on this and after numerous fruitless searches, I still can't find anything remotely suitable. I'm looking for something that can mix photos / text that would...

[ubuntu] Re: DNS issue on one machine

I get the expected output (attached)

It's odd that I can ping the site, dig's OK, but ssh and wget both fail.

Can network-manager really be that screwed?

[ubuntu] DNS issue on one machine

    Hi,

Got two machines, 1 running 13.04 (Which is fine, no issues) and one running 12.10.

The 12.10 machine has developed (today) a weird DNS issue where it won't resolve to any of the sites on...

[lubuntu] Re: 10.10 and New VLC 2.0

"Ask your favourite packager for VLC 2" makes it sound like you can apt-get it, rather than having to go get someone to build it for you and port it!

Have purged and autoremoved VLC, so it...

[lubuntu] Re: 10.10 and New VLC 2.0

No, all that does is install the old version of VLC, it doesn't install VLC 2 (even on 11.04)

Also tried apt-get upgrade VLC to no avail.

    Any other ideas?

[ubuntu] Only some PHP files not being served

OK, I've had a play about with Airtime, and it wasn't doing the trick, so I removed i t, so far so good.

Then Apache started screwing me around (could be pure coincidence, not sure)

    So, after...

[SOLVED] Re: MEdia server with web interface

Yeah, you really don't need both when you've got Subsonic, and there is even an iTunes theme available if you miss the interface of iTunes!

[SOLVED] Re: MEdia server with web interface

Well as mt-daapd is now dead in the water it may be time to shift on from iTunes streaming, and switch to something more usable and supported (Sorry if that sounds a little blunt!)

[SOLVED] Re: MEdia server with web interface

Jinzora sorts out DLNA, but I removed that after a day as it's next to useless.
DAAP is apparently handled already by mediatomb, but I've not had any experience with that aspect of MediaTomb.
