I think there are to factors here! The multi-architecture and multi-version. One package seems connected to "2.4.8-1ubuntu2" and the other one to "2.4.8-1ubuntu2.1"
...
I'm running a x86_64 system. I don't know how both packages end up being installed

I just update my Ubuntu and after it all the windows aren't showing up as they should. Their frames don't got drawn and neither does their content.

Just change it: /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons to 'true' =D
also there are NO icons at firefox menus or any other application's
i could give it a try... do you know which key should be changed?
Hmm no, it's not just the applications menu, every menu that has glyphs (like Firefox' Edit menu, right-click on files/folders) they just don't appear at all
