There's Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, which despite being difficult to install, is pretty good. Try it out, and if you like it, you can also buy the sequel, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Don't get...
I refuse to bump this thread... oh, wait.
I just use Gedit because my needs are very modest and I don't like extra IDE-specific files hanging around.
It's just a matter of control. A freeware author can still distribute to everybody, but he or she can decide in which direction it goes next.
Sorry for not replying before. I'll definitely look into that. Thanks, all of you.
EDIT: It worked. Thanks.
Thanks. I did change it, but it didn't work. I'll see if a reboot helps (it is a Windows program after all).
I've gotten Starcraft running great using WINE, and there don't seem to be any big issues on that front. However, I was wondering if it was possible to store the CD-ROM data on the hard drive so I...
Really nice. It's not my style (I don't look at my desktop very much, so there's no need for me to use a great wallpaper like yours), but it's a great piece of art.
Nice. Godwin's Law. Sounds exactly like what HITLER WOULD HAVE BROUGHT UP!
You should be fine if you're not having problems. I would just say don't take the chance of messing up a working setup.
Hey, is this experiment by any chance inspired by this fine comic? Seems eerily similar.
Imagine telling someone to fire up this app, click this button, switch to this tab, enter the following in the third text box from the top in the first section, and finally click the green button at...

Personally, I just use Gedit (and I'm sure Kate on KDE would be good as well). As long as you're making relatively small programs , then that should be enough.
There's Anjuta, but I didn't like...
Oh yeah. Great comeback luser! At least it's better than KDE and its eye-blindingly shiny interface.
One thing that's annoying when the notifications or information are on the desktop is that they are blocked by any maximized window. As I'm using a 1024x768 resolution, that is a real problem.

its obvious what teh problem is. you arent using gnome. get a real deskto penvironment, not that stoopid kde! and while youre at it start using vi, all you emacs loosers!
Why the Shift? That doesn't even work for me for some reason. I've always used Control-U.
Yeah, I'm crazy about shortcuts, in case you didn't notice me posting in this thread again and again :)
That's why you use Ctrl-g (Next) or Ctrl-Shift-g (Previous). Why take your hand off the keyboard, right?
How is / not the same as Ctrl-F? Just curious. I understand that ' is used to search links only, right? Also, I just start typing anyway since I have Find as you type enabled.
I tend to go with raw HTML (IE can't handle XHTML, and it's not XML if it's not served as XML), along with CSS, maybe some Javascript if it really helps (but it should never be necessary). Then, for...
I'm assuming to get the OS-less system, they would have to separately manufacture the system so it doesn't get loaded with Windows on the assembly line. That separation causes overhead since the...
Quite a few people have said Control-F, which is weird because you can use /. Or you can enable Find as you type (Preferences->Advanced), and just start typing.
I like Control-Shift-T to undo...
