Woohoo! I got SC working. Basically what you do is install BattleNet using PlayOnLinux. Oh but just BattleNet. Not StarCraft yet. Change to the latest version of Wine available. 1.9.15 at the time...

Neither my wifi nor my bluetooth works due to a bug that is fixed as of 3.14.

Solved. You have to be a member of the vboxusers and vboxsf groups before filters start working.
Note to self: The problem with virtualBox turned out to be group membership in the vboxusers / vboxsf groups.
Problem: Ubuntu grabs and mounts my phone even if I have a filter specified in VirtualBox.
