    This is a 5-boot setup.

    Upgrade to 9.10 showed/listed in GRUB2 all 5 OS's. 2 Linux's won't boot. 9.10, XP, Vista boot ok...

    Edit:
    ls (hd0,4) /boot returned
    Partition hd0,4: fs ext2, Label /,...

    Neither worked...

    Tried without the line at all, and tried with just
    search --no-floppy --label --set /dev/sda4

    Both gave same result as default result

    VFS: Cannot open root device "sda4"...
