ubuntu 11.01 doesnt play amy sounds, says it needs g.... files to play them, when i select them and say ok then the update manager crashes.

yes the second one is the one i am talking about. I have the installer cd of ubuntu 9.04 , it installs fine but in the end gives error.

I tried installing ubuntu withing windows xp sp3, and get this some permission denied, see log ..... something.. wrror.

Hi i just installed ubuntu 9 on xp sp2, it installs fine, but when I reboot it does not show up in boot menu options or in start menu options after xp has booted.

Tried booting with both cd's and installing on hard drive it gives disk rad error. Dont understand why 2 disks, n 2 iso's of ubuntu from two ftp sites can be corrupt.

any ideas?

Downloaded two different images n burnt them on differenct rewritable cd's and tried to install in windows xp, but halfway it gives a disk read error.
I know both cd's are in perfect shape.

i hink some of these can be installed in home directory, make a separate partition for /home. N dont format it.

I think you will have to install pine, and then be able to run windows exe, com, bat files etc.
