Thanks mate. I'll try using it once again. :)
EDIT: Also, this may be weird, but is there a way to import cookies?

The thing I don't like about it is how a whole tab with transfers suddenly appears. Too big. I like my little download window. :)
As I said, I just prefer this because I've used Firefox for so...
I tried out Opera 9. I liked the interface and it rendered the pages faultlessly, though I did not like the download manager at all. Maybe I am too used to Firefox. :)

You've got a much better chance using something like icculus.org/quake3.

This thread was fun to read, especially...
Classic. :)
I suppose I'm lucky because all my family members are fairly competent, except for Dad.
I just set him up Firefox and Thunderbird...
I'm like that a little bit, too. :)
I usually use GNOME for a week or two after a new release, but end up going back to the development version of XFCE.
I also experiment with Openbox and...
Yeah, that was a stinky time for Arch, though it all seems to be cleared up now. I had been using X.org 7 from testing for a little while before it was moved to current, but that caused complications...
I switched to Arch six months ago, and have not looked back. I love it's almost always up to date state. I've never had problems with instability when using the "stable" repos.
It's package system...
BSD has been capturing my interest lately, mainly for the same reason Linux did, something different, so I may try it out sooner or later. I have a spare 40GB laying around here somewhere.

Indeedly. :) I switched my small 5GB partition that I use to share files with Windows to ext3 just the other day. I use the ext2 file system driver for Windows from here to access it. Nothing...
My Brother 620N MFC doesn't work in the slightest. To anyone thinking of buying it: avoid. :)

I'm assuming you mean the old Xbox controller, not the Xbox 360 one.
The driver for it (called xpad) is built into the kernel. Just plug it in. If that doesn't work, reboot with it plugged in. It...
Cedega runs CSS in DirectX 8 mode by default, on my machine. I'm assuming it can run HL2 in DX8 as well.
Wine is definately going in a better direction than Cedega, IMO, but I have never got it to...
You can get the above mentioned Cedega here. Don't expect much however. Compatibility is pretty poor and it breaks often [especially with Steam + Steam Games].
Also, performance of your games will...

A lot of information there. I'm not sure if anybody has made Ubuntu compatible yet, but it'd be pretty slow if they kept it standard [GNOME etc].

I use my server to run MPD and play my music with it. In reality though, I would have no problem having to install it [ALSA].

That is strange. I have not encountered that error message before.
Xft, is that short for X Font server or something? I know the Eternal SPU plugin has a different interface [in terms of the...

We got "new" computers at my school last year. P4 2.4GHz, 512MB, Windows XP, Office XP. I think they're Dells.
Recently, however, the PCs we used before the new ones have been used for a computer...
The first OS I used, was Mac OS "Classic" at school in Year 1. The OS that was on my first PC was Windows 95 [100Mhz, 16MB, 346MB HDD, Win 95]. That PC is now resting peaceful in some dump somewhere....
The Eternal SPU plugin works fine, it's just built with a very old version of GCC.
Installing the package libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 fixed the problem up good for me. :)
