    not an optical but an old style trackball and yes it works with win and shockingly ubuntu 6.10

    knew that turned system off, plugged in mouse, you know the rest but the mouse pointer just sits there no matter how much you move the mouse or how many reboots you do.

    hey all
    had a usb mouse as the default one but it died so pluged in a ps/2 mouse but now it wont recognise it has a mouse connected.
