    Re: Devilish December 2010 Screenshots

Wow, very, very nice :). You know how much i love this light/dark combination.

  7. Re: I could really use some input on my new theme.

Unfortunately i've changed the scrollbars :P sorry. Although i hadn't seen Google wave or its scrollbars, i did indeed took the tabs style from Bespin.

  10. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

globalmenu is now updated to vala v0.6.0 .
  11. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

The patch doesn't apply cleanly because it's for a different gtk version than the one included in gutsy. Here is a modified patch that works :
  12. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

If tou are asking about a release. i'd wait till 0.4 is a bit more stable. I think though that Rainwoodman is planing to make a repo sooner or later.
  13. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

    sudo cp ~/packages/globalmenu/trunk/servers/GNOME_GlobalMenuApplet.server /usr/lib/bonobo/servers

For some reason the new svn versions don't install the server file.
  14. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

Copy your theme to the /usr/share/themes directory or to /root/themes .
  15. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

Here is what i did :
First, uninstall everything globalmenu related. If the applet is running , open system monitor, kill it and when there is a prompt, select don't reload.
    Then :

    cd ~
    mkdir...

Create a .gnomerc file inside your home dir and put

    export GTK_MODULES="libgnomenu"
    in it. Restart X.
  18. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

Try Epiphany and Gedit and you will see it. Actually it's visible on your sreenshot too, the window on the right has it just under the decorator. Because the parent isn't always the same, the line...
  19. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

It is what happens with kde and osx if i am not mistaken.
  20. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

    I am using 599 svn .
The parent widget style is a bad idea :
    - The parent isn't always the same type.
    - Parts with gradients like the toolbars, that usually seat bellow the menubar will most of...
  21. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

Nevermind, i got it to show up eventually :).
    Some bugs :
    - The nautilus menu doesn't work for me, i just get a black space instead of a menubar when the desktop has focus.
    - There is once more a...
  22. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

It builds just fine here (ubuntu gutsy) you just have to
sudo ldconfig after make installing. My problem is that the applet loads without error messages but shows nothing. My guess is that...
  23. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

    Try this applet instead:
  24. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

To completely disable the old macmenu version you insert
    export GTK_MENUBAR_NO_MAC=1
into .gnomerc *the .gnomerc must be inside your user folder). If you want to disable macmenu for a specific...
  25. Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!
