I tried everything from reinstalling UBUNTU to upgrading RAM to 1.25 gig, to removing pulse to following your steps but to no avail. No sound.

i went ahead and uninstalled pulse audio too but still no sound.. bohoo :(..

even after removing pulse my audion does not seem to work. Any help will be appreciated..

i upgraded the ram, reinstalled ubuntu and now the installation looked fine. but still no sound. please do help..

i have finally upgraded to 1gig ram and now have 1.25 gig ram. All my installation problems disappeared but the problem with sound still persists. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
