Re: "I'm a Mac" Ad Guy Busted...

I agree, he appeared as the Mac in the Mac vs PC commercials. This does not define what operating system he can use for the rest of his life. Who cares?

A linode is pricey? Slicehost provides half as much ram for the same price. Anyway, if do want a cheap OpenVZ VPS, there's BlazeVPS.

    Re: Email form spam thingy

You're right, the from field is from his address. I was under the assumption it would be the UF mailer address, and I didn't want to mark that as spam. Thank you for dealing with it.

    Re: Is this dial-up speed?

Dial-up is 56 kilobits per second, and it downloads at about 7 kilobytes per second. Your download speed, 48 kilobytes per second, is nowhere near that slow, and its equivalent to 390 kilobits per...

    Re: Pythøn Definitions

You will either have to call the method inside another method in the class, or instiate the class and call the method.

    Re: Upgrading Python

That doesn't even make sense. If you need Python 2.7 features, you have to depend on Python 2.7 for the whole script.

As for the shebang, yes, it can be relative, but including one that's relative...

I agree with this. My Ubuntu server I setup 58 days ago has an uptime of 58 days.

  14. Re: How do I get My function to take in 2 instantiated class names?

Function arguments cannot have dots in them, because they denote namespaces and it makes no sense in a function argument. Are you trying to call the function without arguments (e.g.,...

That doesn't mean it's binary compatible. You can try, but a better bet is MacPorts.

  19. Re: Qt vs. wxWidgets, from a KDE-user's perspective.

If you want to use Python and Qt you can use PyQt4. Or PySide, but it's nowhere near ready yet.

  25. Re: FPS (first person shooter) realism - is it really that important?

Nope. I don't really like games that go overboard on trying to be realistic. TF2 is an example of a game that is purposely over the top.
