Have been using Lubuntu Natty (32-bit) happily for a few days now, even generated a remastered iso (urxvt, custom .bashrc, .bash_aliases, Chromium with AdBlock Plus, Tabs to the Front, Context Menu...
  2. [lubuntu] Re: Lubuntu: the way forward for aging hardware

Re: I've fallen in love with Lubuntu!

I tried an early live CD-only version of Lubuntu based on Karmic awhile back and remember being favourably impressed.

Since then I have tried alphas but have been decidedly less impressed:...

Nautilus is not an option I...
  8. Re: HOWTO: Make your fonts smooth enough to drool over.

This is in response to kamiokande who said:

I read (I can't recall where, unfortunately) that this happens on systems w/o the Tahoma font installed.

The HTML / CSS on the Ubuntu forums site...

    [ubuntu] Re: Odd GUI delays/lag

In my albeit modest experience, if a problem isn't common (i.e., a bug or a newbie mistake) and would seem to be limited to a singular configuration (hardware + software combo) forums aren't much...

    [ubuntu] Re: Odd GUI delays/lag

Experiencing similar delays here with Firefox 3.0.7 menus on the Crunchbang version of Intrepid.

Not sure if this problem is a result of updating from 3.0.4 / 3.0.5 as I updated Firefox right...
