I don't think it's a problem, anyway you have not fully solved your issues, so... :-P
According to this thread, you do find that option under thread tools.
Yet I don't find the "unsubscribe from this thread" entry, even from subscribed threads, so maybe something has changed...
Actually, I don't know...
Could be someting related to the flash plugin, but you didn't give much information... and I'm not expert on this subject, I just have a soundcard that works without many...
Thanks for these links. As soon as I reboot under Ubuntu, I'll try to reconfigure Samba following those instructions, and I'll let you know what happens :-)
Definitely.
The problem occurs while connecting via Samba to a printer shared by Ubuntu (the opposite works flawlessly, at least for me).
I'm sorry you can't improve your audio quality.
Anyway, you should see the option to mark the thread as solved under the "thread tools" menu, at the top of the page.
I assume you're using the latest stable version of Ubuntu, which is 8.10 (also referred to as Intrepid Ibex or just Intrepid).
Take a look at this thread and if you solve your problems, mark this...
Same thing here...
I share a printer with my sister's pc, but I have bot Windows and Ubuntu, so I tried to make her add both printers, one to be used while I'm on Windows, and the other one to be...
Assuming the Ubuntu root gets mounted under /mnt/tmp, shouldn't it be (from GRUB prompt)
find /mnt/tmp/boot/grub/menu.lst
?
You should mark the thread as solved, then ;-)
Glad you transferred your emails under Ubuntu without issues.
By the way, have you found any linux app for CAD?
I'm not an expert on this aspect, but it could just be something related to your fstab.
This file contains information about where the devices (hard drives, optical units, and so on) have to be...
I use only Gnome, and I remember the menu.lst got updated automatically via synaptic.
I'll wait for the next kernel to see if my problems are solved.
The question remains: why it's not done automatically? Does anyone have any clues? On my previous Ubuntu installation it worked flawlessly :-(
EDIT: I could have searched the forums better... here...
I have the same kind of problem: whenever I got a new kernel installed, I have to manually edit the menu.lst in the grub folder.
Still trying to understand why... :-(
@blazemore:
I don't get what you mean...
I was just saying that it's not something Ubuntu-specific, but it's a feature offered by Firefox ;-)
As I understand what you're saying, it's related to Firefox and it's not an Ubuntu aspect.
See here for how to disable this.
Well, you can do these things using Wicd (an alternative network manager available from the repos), if I remember properly, but that's not what you asked for.
I actually don't know if...
I'm sorry I cannot give you any advice on this.
I have a Brother laser printer, and works just fine (recognized by Ubuntu and automatically set up after being plugged with usb cable). But I have...
Well, I think the "problem" is related to rar compression, since Rar is not a free tool for creating archives (but it's free if you want to decompress them).
You can choose a different archive...
Well, the answer is yes, both if you want to print to a Windows shared printer, and if you want to print from Windows to a printer shared by Ubuntu.
In the latter case, you have to install Samba...
I have a similar problem too. With NetworkManager, I created my custom configuration called "Home", and I switch manually to it after every logon (once a day :-)). Maybe there's a way to make this...
Reinstall them, and let us know if something else happens, or if you get rid of your issues.
EDIT: sorry for what I wrote, I think it's better to do this way
- open Synaptic
- under Edit...
dead_man_walking, if the problem is solved, please mark this thread as [SOLVED], so other users having similar issues can benefit from these posts ;-)
I actually don't know, but I don't think so...
If you have Windows, you can try Google Earth under Windows and see how it works, IF it works :-P
Anyway, I found some complaints about GE under...
