Well, since it's saying that it depends on wine1.5 but you're not installing it, you should probably try to do that (sudo apt-get install wine1.5).

Bumping the sound issue. It seems really weird, even a single beep from a confirmation prompt or similar momentarily halts all incoming Internet traffic.

The connection is slow and the PC still takes ages to boot since it's trying to configure the network, but it works, and that's the most important thing. Thank you! :-)

Yeaaah, I give up. I've tried to fix this myself for a while now to no avail, so: Another thread about wireless problems.
I'm using a Buffalo USB wireless adapter, which was somewhat functional...
