The official Linux 3.0 kernel has been released. According to the driver changelog, the RT53xx wireless cards should be enabled by default. However, the DM1z has a type RT5390f version that has not...
So, I did get the desired effect I was looking for (more or less). One has to select the single desktop (multiple display) option for every single monitor in CCC. Then, reboot, and in CCC, turn off...
I have the same issue. "Eyefinity" in Linux is nothing more than 3 monitors working at the same time, each with their own individual resolution.
I'd like it to be like in Windows where there is...
I have the DM1z, and I added the splitted systems libva + others to my system, as well as got special vaapi builds of vlc and xbmc. What I noticed, is that if I run either of those programs and then...
Not fixed with Catalyst 11.5, BTW. I'd advise you all to signify that this problem affects you as well on the launchpad.
That worked for me! The only thing was that for me, I had to replace /dev/sdX with /dev/mapper/pdc_xxxxxx, as I needed to use my RAID array instead of a simple device. I still don't know understand...
Welcome to the club buddy. No word whatsoever what's up. I'm gonna try installing using the Alternate CD and see if that works (in the past, the alternate CD had better RAID support).
I have the exact same problem, and it came about after installing Catalyst 11.4 on my DM1z. Sleep worked fine out of the box in 11.04 with the open drivers. Hopefully a fix will come soon...
I have this exact same problem with Natty. I'm using the AMD SB750 Raid, and I have RAID 0 and RAID 1 arrays. Oddly, the RAID 1 array isn't detected at all with the live USB, but it is detected...
To be honest, I don't think you'll be able to beat the HD 5830 combo from Newegg right now (comes with a USB tv tuner you can either use or sell). The catalyst drivers have been rock solid for me...
Same thing here; it worked fine in Maverick, doesn't work in Natty Beta 1. Also interesting is that Bluetooth works out of the box in Natty, but trying to install these drivers kills it (it worked...
AMD has no support for VDPAU. You need to follow the tutorial on the XBMC forums (which I have linked in the page I linked you to) to compile XBMC with VAAPI support.
See My Post here. (Specifically the VAAPI section). You need Catalyst 11.2 (AKA FGLRX).
Hey man, the DM1z does have an ethernet port, it is on the right side, hidden behind a plastic panel (I know, I missed it at first too). As for the wifi, try this.
I didn't try suspend or hibernate before installing Catalyst, but afterwards, they both seem to function fine.
As for the DM3t, it has a bigger screen with a lower resolution, the Core 2 will...
What works great out of the box:
Bluetooth
Sound
Ethernet
USB
Keyboard
Webcam
Wait for the official 2.6.38 kernel to appear in the Ubuntu PPA. It has some AMD Fusion fixes in it. It won't magically make things super fast, but it should be significantly better.
Hopefully...
Glad to hear that is working now. When I wrote the script, the method you describe did nothing. I'll try that when I get home.
I still don't understand why this is not a simple slider in the CCC...
This thread may be of some assistance.
Sounds like you got it working pretty well. Can you do me a favor and see how it performs playing h.264 1080p mkv files with XBMC? Also, I'd be interested...
Not sure why AMD has their drivers do that by default. The RadeonHD open source drivers work fine out of the box in Ubuntu 10.10 on my HD 5850. The Windows drivers actually used to default to...
Glad I could help you all. I just updated the OP as I noticed that in Ubuntu 10.10 with Catalyst 10.10, the displaytype attribute I needed wasn't listed by aticonfig.
My new one is dfp2, so just...
So, I just bought a 32" Panasonic LCD (1080p) and have decided to use that as my main monitor. Unfortunately, when I hooked it up to my computer, I had under-scan with both Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu...
I'd like to chime in that today I updated my PulseAudio from the UpdateManager. After playing back some videos with an AC3 track, I noticed my receiver was actually being submitted the AC3 track in...
What works for me is to do it in-game at the console. For me, I type:
set r_customHeight "1152"
set r_customWidth "2048"
set r_mode "-1"
(notice the camelHump capitalization and use of "set" vs...
