Looks like devel is working now, after a week or two of continuing to point to trusty, started getting the utopic updates a couple days ago.
That would be a bug on one end or the other.
In theory it should be the same as when you use testing or unstable in your Debian sources.list, and I've never had those kind of messages with Debian....

If you want to stick with trusty once it's released, use trusty in your sources.list.

Looks like the normal OS X bootloader to me, and I can't find any indication that OS X uses grub....
