Bumpy bump! Any ideas, people?
Thanks for your reply kleskjr.
The restarts can happen at any time: at the login screen and even at the GRUB menu. They can happen when the computer has just been turned on for the first time in a...
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance guys
My laptop restarts itself frequently - full restart back through the bios screen to the bootloader, not just logging-out. It happens in Ubuntu 11.04 (32 bit and 64 bit), the Gnome 3 live CD from...
Sorry, I lost the debs when I reinstalled Ubuntu. If someone else can post them, that would be great. I can always build some more, but that won't happen until at least tomorrow...
Oops! Thanks, it's fixed now...
Mac menu deb packages for Feisty:
Installation
GTK:
Extract the archive HERE and install the debs you need. You could just delete the ones you don't need, e.g. the -dbg or -doc ones...
I am compiling deb packages for Feisty as I speak. I will post them when they are ready/uploaded.
P.S. These ones won't allow the unpatched version to overwrite them!
That is untrue. Avant window navigator CAN launch apps - try dragging a menu item to the dock.
A deb for X86 Feisty.
EDIT:
Now version 0.51 and built using that crazy 'prevu' thing!
Unless I am much mistaken this command will not be able the insert the module because the "modprobe usbhid" is not running as root. It should be:
sudo modprobe -r usbhid && sudo modprobe usbhid
I prefer to use alt + sysrq + k to kill all processes on the current terminal. It is especially useful if the X server dies and alt + ctrl + backspace doesn't work, because it allows you to log in...
zniavre, if you are referring to my package, try Cwiiis' - that one doesn't have the same issue. Here is the post with it on.
I was aware of the upgrade issue, and I have attempted to address it as I stated a few pages back. I am glad to see that you managed to make it work - would you care to share your wisdom? :p Also, it...
CWillis, what do you not like about my debs?
Debs updated to version 1.0.6. Here
It took a little longer than I thought, but my deb is updated HERE. Thanks again AqD!
kpolice, I will make a new deb if you want, my one is outdated. Should be build within 1/2 hour
Almost certainly
The debian package doesn't install the menu-applet anywhere whatsoever! You must copy the files manually.
I have updated my deb and the GNOME applet package. Look here. AqD, the newest version works very well indeed! Thanks a lot. Also, maybe you could put a link to the post with my deb on the first...
This works fine for me! You set it up exactly the same as if for XP (I think).
This was automatically added to /boot/grub/menu.lst:
title Windows Vista/Longhorn (loader)
root (hd0,0)...
zAo, I don't mean to sound stupid but - are you sure you actually installed the patched GTK?
UPDATED! - now version 1.0.6
Deb for Ubuntu Edgy. Get it here. Also, for the panel applet, you have to copy the attached files to these locations:
sudo mv /path/to/macmenu-applet...
