Works GREAT here on an Asus 900 Eee PC!
Anyone know if the desktop switcher will be back in 10.4? I'd like to switch to classic view Ubuntu, and back easily. Thanks!
I helped my friend (whose post is above) with trying this out on Ubuntu, Intrepid Ibex. Basically he has an MSI TV@nywhere card.
His satellite box sends out a signal on Channel 60, which if we...

I have Ubuntu Server - and I'd like to be able to print contents of .conf files, and the like, to a laser printer on my network.
Can someone please tell me how to do this - or provide a link with...

Thanks again!
Thanks very much! That's EXACTLY what I was looking for!!
I setup the server a few years ago (think it's 6.06 LTS) and it's sitting on a DMZ port on my firewall. I want to move it to the internal network, and port forward to it from my firewall.

If I installed 9.62 from the .deb file, and now I add Opera's repositories, and use that to keep Opera up to date, will I risk screwing my system up? Thanks for your help!
Maybe one of you more experienced Opera users can help answer a question for me.

May I ask if in your opinion it's better to load Sun Java 6 from the Ubuntu Repositories, or to download it directly from Sun's web site. I think I'm gonna (re)install NetBeans right from Sun's site...
Thank you for this! Do I need to install the Java package first, and then this lets me choose from the Java versions installed on my box?
Thanks everyone for your answers to my question. For starting out in my endeavor to learn Java and J2EE I have decided to use NetBeans, and a book from Deitel called "Java - How To Program - Sixth...
Hi Everyone!
I'm a beginning Java developer - worked with Java 1.4 and a simple text editor a little bit a few years back, but now I want get serious about learning Java, and more specifically...
Hey - I appreciate your comments (and everyone else's!) I got the case cracked open - turns out I had an ATI card (not AGP) inside. That card (made for Dell by ATI I would guess) would NOT do...
OK - thank you! I'm probably going to get the low end card just due to my budget. I really don't need a gamer's card or something with a gazillion megs of RAM on it, but I'd have to agree that the...
Thanks for the info! That card fits nicely into my budget right now too! :-)
Can one of you experts please tell me what a good video card for Compiz is? I have a Dell 400sc server which I believe has integrated Intel graphics card. I want to replace my video card with...
It's the most exciting thing I've seen on a PC in years! Glad you made the jump, and like it!!
You're right! Great interview!!
Thanks for the link to it!
Thanks - that did the trick!
I've installed Tomcat5 on Ubuntu 6.06LTS - runs just fine!
