use imgburn. google it. it's free and light weight. burn the iso to disk with it. boot from cd. follow prompts.

nope i put my /boot/ in my "ubuntu" drive. you just have to link it to your MBR with grub.

put interface up

acquire ip. use one of the three(whatever works):

repair your install:

if you have a live cd then boot with it.. mount the boot partition
# sudo mkdir /mnt/boot
# sudo mount /dev/sdXY /mnt/boot
replace X for the letter and Y for the partition number. use 'sudo...
the CD's bootloader may be trying to boot to the harddrive..
during the boot menu use the 'e' edit or 'c' command prompt to make sure it is being linked to the cd instead of the harddrive
gparted makes it very simple for creating the swap partitions. use the above method to auto swapon at boot.
also try debian wheezy for it has multiarch support for cpus.
what are you dd'ing? please be more specific.

um the user that you are on needs to be added to the correct groups.. i know that much.. you may try the useradd and usermod command.

lol you were converting backtrack to ubuntu. i did that too and got the same errors.
i bet you could just
sudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/status
and remove the versions that are giving you...
make sure your pc-speaker module is not blacklisted.

have you tried that card in another computer? also some cards don't have very good range due to their antennas..
