The problem:

After the latest update for ubuntu 12.10 the system crash unity

The solution?:

sudo restart unity //This did not work


Then found out the update broke the ati proprietary...

Do not work it goes directly to tty1

Added a picture since cant get startx to work now :(

Had try this in the past and did work but not now : sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

Greetings i just made the updates and had broke unity the only way i can access a browser is by right click on the screen change back ground go back to setting click on ubuntu one and magane other...

In my case this is what it worked for me :

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

then installing the driver

just read that ati had no plans so far to make a driver for cards lower than 5XXXX on ubuntu 12.10 so they recommend to stay in 12.04 hope this clear some questions...

i had a ATI 5XXXX and the driver also have a bug i had filled a report so 12.10 ati driver still giving lots of problems ... i should stay in 12.04 but was so stable that i get really boring of...

greetings since i was having issues trying to install ubuntu native i give a try to wubi but it tells me when it load up: system file not define , so i run boot info script...

just rebooted and the wifi was not found so i quantify the findings :) hehe still after
changing the folder and doing sudo modprobe b43 everything works until you restart or shut down the computer

I am at my grandma house and the Wifi disappear again lucky the terminal saved the the command so i just follow it and it worked again ... but in any chance this change could be make permanent?
