[ubuntu] Re: Filesystem Checks Always Happen

Dunno if it could be the same cause, but my old 800MHz server on my desk does this because the CMOS battery is dead.

[all variants] Re: System 76 for Hardware alone?

I would say yes, it's worth considering them just for the hardware. I transferred an XP Media Center license to my Serp5 to dual-boot for gaming. Runs like a champ.

[ubuntu] Re: Lightscribe drive for Serp5

Thanks for the info on the drive.

That's why I bring a 8-cup thermos with me in the morning. Of course, I *STILL* don't get my first cup for a few hours. I think work doesn't pile up over the...

    [ubuntu] Lightscribe drive for Serp5

Okay, I figured it'd be best to ask here so everyone could know. Is there a specific type of drive/interface I need to look for to replace my optical drive with a lightscribe burner? Or are all...

[ubuntu] Re: firefox 3.5 64 bit

Adobe actually has a native 64bit client. I didn't find this same link when I installed it, but if you google search Ubuntu 64 bit native flash there's tons of answers. I know at least one of them...

My Serval Pro has a 7200RPM drive, and my VMs run great. I don't really feel comfortable comparing it to my 5400RPM drive on my previous machine, because it was PATA instead of SATA, Core Duo 2.10...

I'm bumping this from my Android Dev Phone because I no longer have functional X. I'll probably have to reinstall.

[ubuntu] Re: streaming with adobe flash plugin

    Here's what I'd recommend.

    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

That should fix the 41 not upgraded. Then just try this:

    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

    [ubuntu] Re: Help: Uninstalled PERL

That should do it. The only thing I'm not sure of is the System76 driver, but I wanna say that's Python-based, not Perl (please correct me if I'm wrong). Either way, you can check that pretty...

    [ubuntu] Re: you suck, nvidia

Yeah, nvidia is great, if you don't have problems.

They won't release the code, nor fix their bugs. Google "nvidia no virtual terminals" and you'll get my point.

    Don't get me wrong, it...

Unfortunately, not for me. I have the very latest 180.29 driver direct from nvidia's website. I haven't tried the older drivers though. It's a very recent card, 9800M GTS, so that's why I haven't...
