It's an AT&T Velocity device which is manufactured by Option.

I've tried going back and forth to windows. Works fine in windows. It's powered in Linux with the lights on, but no action. Puzzling.
Just played with gnome ppp, it is not "detecting" my modem. I tried cycling through all the devices on the setup menu including the non-USB options with no luck.
I also tried this after seeing it...

I did get it to work in windows vista, but 10.4 recognizes it as "CD Zero" and doesn't give me the option to connect. I'll work on the other technique posted yesterday and get back to the board...
