I was unaware of padsp until just now :P
Hmm, that is something I never tried. I didn't even think about it because I was using the native client. I should try it on my Gutsy box and see how it turns out.
Good new for those who use Teamspeak and wish to game.
I have been anticipating the 8.04 release for quite some time as Hardy comes with Pulse Audio (PA) installed as the default sound daemon....

I highly recommend you visit GameDev.net and look through their tutorials. Also take a look at their forums.
There is much to do when making a game. Even the simplest...
Unfortunately this does not rectify the misdirected "No" votes. The mislead can't take their vote back and fix it. Though, they should have all read it first before blindly clicking.
Here's the deal. Cedega, once installed and working, stays installed and working until you decide to remove it. You subscribe to Transgaming so that you can receive updates. Once you've paid your...
You can always use both. That is what I do. Most the stuff I try to keep with Wine (steam, WoW, etc) but for the things that just plain refuse to work with Wine but work with Cedega I also use, such...
Actually there is quite a difference as far as getting games to work. A prime example I'd like to give is City of Heroes/Villains (CoX). I tried everything I could to get that game working with Wine....
You know... for those that say Blizzard won't release Linux because they would have to devote development time to port it consider these facts:
1. Runs on Mac already... BSD based OS. Would take...
For sound? Using Alsa.
Just upgraded Wine to 0.9.46, set to emulation and enabled driver emulation. Also set SoundOutputSystem to 2 (was 1). Everything is working great again, no stuttering, and my frame rates are just as...
Same....
Though I cheated and used Cedega to finish the patch. Also... the game performance in Wine is garbage for me unless I disable audio completely, unless I use Cedega, then everything is...
I actually rolled back to 0.9.43 from 0.9.45 because of this problem. Works fine for me... though we will see after today's patch.
I'll have to check out that jwowupdater. I *was* using jUniUploader since my guild has wowroster installed, but it doesn't quite work well with our installation for some reason. Basically, I just...
Have you tried using the aoss wrapper?
I played EVE for the trial. It was an amusing game, but I couldn't quite get into it. I had just abandoned WoW when I did and it was a great change but wasn't quite what I was looking for.
I...
Alsa works fine for me. Not even using Aoss.
There does not seem to be any issue with OGL except the patch process which is easily solved by turning off OGL just for the patch.
Actually, you just have to turn off OGL for the patching process, then switch back once it is installed.
It works fine in the latest Wine, at least on Fiesty 64. So well that I was 5th in DPS on our...
I'm sorry to get off topic, but I find your Void Walker's name hilarious... even more so because I knew a Warlock named Pheobe ><
Also, you might not want to post screen shots with your account...
I think I remember reading in some how to for wow with wine that you need to use direct x to patch, or was it starcraft... *shrug* either way it makes sense then that to download/apply a patch of...
Sounds like the issue when you have DirectX running instead of OGL. Have you tried to use the "-opengl" flag? Example:
$ wine WoW.exe -opengl
Been there :P
And many times I might add...
Have you tried using the "-opengl" option? I'm sure that's a dumb question since I'm sure that is the only way to get it working with Wine.
BTW... Do you mean 2.2.0 PTR? I thought the current 'live' client was 2.1.3.
Correction: 2.1.3 IS the current live client, I just checked.
