  1. [ubuntu] Re: Firefox 3 always wants to restart after upgrade to gutsy

Prometheum, I am using Windows XP, but I had the exact same problem. Renaming extensions.rdf solved the problem (instead of deleting/moving it, I just renamed the file -- extensionsOLD.rdf; this...

    Re: Stallman on the BBC!!

Stallman is an American. Why is "behavior" spelled "behaviour" when he wrote the article? I realize "behaviour" is proper in England, but an English person didn't write the article.

    It's not...

[xubuntu] Re: cannot login after xubuntu upgrade

You're going to tell us you fixed it without even giving us the solution? That's not very helpful to those who are having the same problem.

Re: Firefox 3 to use native icons and tabs!

Same here. I am using Firefox 3 now, but I don't want the Ubuntu integration. I want the old icons and everything. How do I go back to the old look?

    Re: Stage6 is Down

DivX provides better quality than Flash, but Flash is faster in streaming (although it can buffer a lot, depending on your computer).

If DivX becomes as fast, I'd throw Flash out the window. It...
  7. Poll: Re: Microsoft Office 2008 for Linux (Home and Student Edition)

If it were free and open source, regardless of who makes it, I would use it over OpenOffice. Microsoft Office is much better, but I don't use it because it's not open source and it is not free.

Re: Do you own a camcorder?

Before getting any in-depth reviews, I bought JVC GZ-MG130U. I am going to give it a spin and I will report back for duty! Any immediate questions...fire them away!

    Re: Final Major Project

Instead of making a new distro, why don't you make something people could use? There are few things that don't have GUIs. There are lots of bugs to work on. There are many other things that Ubuntu...

Re: Do you own a camcorder?

It looks like the toss up is between JVC and Sony. Both are attractive, but I am now leaning more towards JVC.

Re: Do you own a camcorder?

With HDD, there shouldn't be too much of a compatibility problem since Ubuntu should recognize the camcorder as an external hard drive. Considering the state of Linux video editors, I should...

Re: I need to buy a Camcorder, I need advice...

If you have a DVD camcorder, it should be pretty simple. With DVD camcorders, whatever you're filming goes directly onto a DVD. You can then just pop the DVD into your computer, and it should work...
