[ubuntu] Re: AWN Vs CAiro Dock !!! which is the Best ?

Just tried both Cairo and AWN. Awn was dirt-simple to install and configure, and looks beautiful. Experienced some instability while configuring, but I'm using Intrepid Beta, so can't complain...

I see this consistently when copying a folder of music into brasero using the 'Search Directory' feature.

Workaround is to restart Brasero, or copy files individually rather than use the search...

Thanks! Got me up and printing on my friend's AEBS in about ten minutes. I was able to use the Print Administration tool in Hardy Heron. Scanned the AEBS at 10.0.1.1 using nmapfe and found port...

The libnb-svnclientadapter-java package depends on openjdk. A bug should be filed to allow it to use sun's java 6

Re: Income Tax Programs for Linux?

Just tried to do my taxes with TurboTax online as I have the past two years with Ubuntu/Firefox. This year they would not even allow me to begin, saying Windows or Mac is required. Chatted with a...

I am seeing this problem too and can say that it has appeared recently. It started happening either with the upgrade to Java 6 update 3, or the upgrade to gutsy. GTK is looking great on Java now,...
  11. Re: Dell Has a New Line-up of their windows PCs and ubuntu PCs!

    This is really impressive.

On the very same day that they roll out the new Inspiron, they add it to the Ubuntu lineup. This means they've been working with Ubuntu to prepare drivers in months...

Re: Dell to choose Ubuntu (Now official)

Well, as for bloatware, you can opt out of most of it on the Windows Systems, and that doesn't cause the price to go up. Don't see why that should drive up the Ubuntu price.

    I am however very...

Re: Dell to choose Ubuntu (Now official)

Those numbers are right, double-checked them just now. One point worth noting is that the base windows systems have Windows Vista Basic. Adding Vista Premium adds $30.

    Also, It doesn't seem...

Re: Dell to choose Ubuntu (Now official)

That's pretty weak. Might as well buy the windows systems and set up a dual boot in that case. But at least the laptop is $100 cheaper. Results could be skewed by current offers too.

  18. Re: How to stream mp3 to an airport express using only open source

This worked first try. Impressive. However there are a few flaws:
