  1. [all variants] Re: Remuxing with MP4Box, audio video out of sync

    If all else fails, "avidemux" can either (assuming the formats are OK):
    - take your audio and video (separate) files and make your output file.
    - take your original file and convert it.

    Re: Alsa mixer capture feature always muted

    You might be able add "amixer" to a startup/login script:

    $ amixer scontrols
    $ amixer --help

    $ amixer sset Capture 100

    I'm not sure about the "100" value.
  3. [SOLVED] Re: Where can I get a specific flash player version?

    Try this (.deb files)
    (I wanted to go to 10.whatever, but there's no 64 bit version and the 32 bit wants a lot of libs).

  4. [lubuntu] Re: Windows 7 Partition Not Recognized-Fdisk says overlapping parts-Fixparts doesn't

    Does windows boot and run properly?

    You have four partitions; I'm guessing that (you should label them):
    /dev/sda1 is the win7 boot partition
    /dev/sda2 is your C: drive with win7 installed. If...

    Maybe update to 2.8; it's in the repositories. It's a bit different, but better.
  6. [SOLVED] Re: How do you setup the system so it automatically mounts a drive at startup?

    Your fstab line is completely WRONG - you don't put the mount command there, you're just passing parameters.

    mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb2 /mnt/Windows - WRONG!

    The line in /etc/fstab should be...
  7. [SOLVED] Re: How do you setup the system so it automatically mounts a drive at startup?

    It's pretty easy.

    Make a directory (e.g. /yourmountpoint) wherever you want it; make yourself the owner, and make it read/write-able as you desire.

    Add a line like this to you /etc/fstab file: ...

    1: Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst (grub = v.9) or /boot/grub/grub.cfg (grub2 = v1.something)
    On the kernel line, remove "quiet" and "splash" parameters.

    [SOLVED] Re: No choice, only windows on boot

    If you have Windows and Linux on separate physical disks, it's far better to select the OS to boot via BIOS, and to avoid having Windows depend on grub. Besides being more robust, it's also much...

    [ubuntu] Re: Why has firefox become so slow?

    For me it's the shockwave flash plugin: I disable it and everything's good. It messes up pages which apparently don't have flash, but almost everything works fine without it. It's easy to turn off &...

  13. Re: What are the advantages of using Ubuntu over Windows 7?

    - foobar: about 50% CPU
    - wineserver: about 40% CPU
