    Poll: Re: Wine 0.9.39

I've finished installing wine 0.9.39 and Joost seems to have stopped working (and this time I think I really mean it).

For me at least, Joost will launch (and faster than it ever has) and I'll see...

If it is a network problem, Wine 0.9.39 might have adressed it (there are supposedly lots of winsock bugfixes). When I said no video, I meant that no video was showing up (which could be any of a...

Poll: Re: HOWTO: Joost (with sound)

If there's no output when turning fixme errors off, then it's (most likely) a problem with the hardware configuration, or some software thing (within joost, not wine). The command I told you to run...

Could you run Joost this way and then post the output: (It gets rid of all those 'fixme:' errors, and instead only shows true errors)

With the version of wine in the repo (0.9.38 ), Joost will run, although it does appear to be slower (than previous versions of wine).

I spoke too soon. It still does work, but it takes a LOT longer to start (try 5-6 minutes). Note that I am using a code snapshout though, so it could be a problem with the snapshot, and not the final...

Poll: Re: HOWTO: Joost (with sound)

OK. It does NOT work with Wine 0.9.38. Which kinda sucks. I'll do my best to figure out what's wrong, but i don't entirely know what could be causing it.

I'll post status updates as I work on it.

Poll: Re: HOWTO: Joost (with sound)

It appears that all of the patches are the same. I'm in the process of rebuilding wine using the git method right now. Wine 0.9.38 hasn't hit the repo yet, my guess would be tomorrow (that seems to...

Yes and no. I found that even though nothing appeared to happen, the new username took, and I just had to hit cancel, then login with the created credentials. If that doesn't work, then yeah, you'll...

I know that Joost used to not work with the 915 chipset; that might be causing it, but I thought they fixed it. I can't seem to find the discussion of that, but the problem is that Joost...

What kind of graphics card do you have? If you have an ATi, it's not very well supported, if you have an nVidia, you can go grab the latest beta drivers, and that might help.

I would try rebooting, that might help, because of the way that wine is forced to access the soundcard (depending on which soundcard it is, it locks access; even after unlocking access to other...

I'm starting to think that a better way of doing this tutorial would be to use git, because it seems to be easier to maintain patches with git. The other advantage is that wine will always be as...

It works with 0.9.37. When that is put in the repository I'll update the instructions. The only difference is that you don't apply patch1.

    Poll: HOWTO: Joost (with sound)

You need to recompile wine for this to work, and it takes a while. If you're afraid of doing this, you probably want to stop now.

    This is for Ubuntu 7.04

First you need to get a few things...
