If you have problems with the new versions of the kernel, X, drivers etc, you can easily go back to the config where it worked.
The kernel isn't updated that often, if, and when you upgrade...

I find the BBC tends to be quite left wing; I'm not really a fan of any news channel; I tend to read the paper instead, because all TV news seems abysmal.
I lose track of how many times people say "come on, honestly, if you had £1500 to spend on and laptop, you'd buy a mac." and I reply with "No, I'd buy a thinkpad"; it is impossible to say how amazing...
