Ubuntu-Gnome 13.04 with pilfered conky.
I'm not sure why you are not picking it up, but it IS there in the repositories.
Good luck.
I traded off Ubuntu 12.04 and Fedora 17 for quite a while...I considered the two about equal in stability, with F17 being a bit faster/more responsive.
Ubuntu 12.10 was not stable on my machine...
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help.
A couple of ideas come to mind:
-Have you tried regular gnome terminal? CTL+ALT+t will bring it up, or find it in Accessories menu. I'm not sure this will solve the problem, but xterm seems quite...
I had that issue with 64bit Ubuntu 12.04. I solved it by downloading the deb directly from dropbox. The version in the repos seems to be broken.
I think so. I read some time ago that the Alps drivers were going to be added as a kernel module in 3.1.8 or later kernel versions. I'm not familiar enough with mint to know if those modules will be...
I had the same problem with my Dell. I'm running Fedora 16, and after an update, to kernel 3.1.9, it just started working. I'm sure there's a way to update Ubuntu, or Mint to the latest kernel, but I...
Have you installed both gawk and curl? I was getting those errors before I installed these packages.
That change has fixed it. Thank you.
I will try the new one also.
Nope. Gives this error:
Conky: llua_do_call: function conky_weather execution failed: /home/nick/conky-weather.lua:728: error in function 'cairo_set_source_rgba'.
argument #2 is 'nil';...
I got it to work.
Very nice work...Thank you MrPeachy.

No changes to my conky, but I got it working in 11.10
Good enough for now.

There's some funny stuff in that quote.
I might have to "clone" some of it for my signature.
Thanks
Oh...you're right. I forgot to post that script.
It's one script, called for each stock quote. Uses Yahoo finance.

Of course...code...Ooh...code tags. got it.

This thread has taught me much about conky.
I greatly appreciate it, and will try and...
I certainly thought about it.
I'm currently enjoying mint, though.
I know I'll eventually go back to ubuntu.
or Arch,
or Debian,
or...
Plenty of options out there.:D
After the horrible debacle of a 11.04 Natty upgrade, I'm trying Mint.
I always liked ubuntu, but Unity is terrible. Compiz freaked out. Classic was totally broken.
No dice.
Mint, for me, for...
Almost. I still have 1 program I need to use for work. This program runs fine under wine, but only in demo mode because it is protected by a sentinel usb security dongle. So, XP in Virtualbox on the...
Thanks, Alan.
That worked beautifully.
Question: Will the PPA still provide updates, or should I remove that repository?
Hi,
I have a Sony SZ650n, running maverick. Works great.
Trying to get the webcam working...Found instructions on this thread:
