I've just tried scalling the CPU's to power saver mode. No difference in battery life things are only marginally slower.
Heat does not seem to be a problem when im plugged into AC though. Only when running on battery.
Can I ask if anyone is having battery problems im only get about 2 hrs out of 9.04.
Have tried Powertop as well not sure if its made of a difference.
Yeah I would of expected better battery life I am sure there will some ways of tweaking it. This could be a big turn off for people that dont want to mess with the terminal.
Could potentionally...
Is there a guide or a way to improve the battery life surely there must be something out there.
Have done all of those things thanks. I would hazard a guess that it might not be slowing down the CPU.
G'day just installed 9.04 with the Wubi installer and just like 8.04 battery life is not great. I never bothered to try and get greater battery life with 8.04 and thus did not use it.

Hmm thats odd that should of let you set your drivers and then set your resolutions I guess something must of changed in Hardy.
When you went through and reconfigured the xserver with the above command did you select the resolution to be 1680X1050?
Try reconfiguring your xserver.
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
