How? It's called an opinion - I was not offensive...
A prime example of why one doesn't hire software geeks to design visual UI elements; their gift is software, not UI - this is a evidence of that.
Apple have taste, Linux has fiddlers.
What on earth? This new design is simply horrendous. The same philosophy which seems to apply to distros, now applies to the forum; "It's not broken, but we're still going to fiddle about with it".

1/ Buy a Mac
2/ Sign up to ADC
3/ Download & install Xcode
4/ Begin!
:)
I'll give this a try, but I'm none too keen on the whole "friendly geeks chatting" format; if you're trying to learn something as complex as Obj C, this is just a needless distraction.
I can...
Passive aggression doesn't help much.
I don't think Apple or Microsoft or anyone else will lose a picosecond of sleep over whether you will or won't "support" them, in a protest of non-purchase;...
You are free to do whatever you want with your hardware, in the same respect that the manufacturers of that hardware are equally as entitled to put whatever restrictions on it that they wish, for...
With all respect, I feel many Linux users are blinded by their demands for "freedom" of the hardware. Computers are manufactured specifically to use Windows or Mac OS X; if there was a demand for...
Hey, guess what Apple did, to make a computer that runs perfectly with their OS? They conceived and designed their OWN machine specifications; why doesn't the Linux community do the same thing, and...
Who knows?
The bottom line is, they don't care about Linux, and from their perspective, they are not obliged to care about it.
Hey, you're a bit early with the April fool's jokes aren't you?
:p
Maybe the Linux community needs to wake up and realise that, whether "good or bad"(?), the mainstream use Macs and Windows PCs - the machine manufacturers main objective is not to market platforms...
Sorry? I don't recall "arguing"; maybe that it what you want, but I'm not here to argue. Take it easy.
Take care :)
Always the experimenter, and as a Mac user and lover, I was simply *delighted* when I discovered a VMWare image of "NeXSTEP" 3.3:

Well...
What hardware are you running? I have i3-550, and I am running *Mountain* Lion in VMWare, and it is not the slightest bit sluggish with just 4Gb ram. If you have old hardware, it is not going to get...
I think you could be getting confused with Windows; Mac OS X needs you to put in your admin password AND press "[Restart]" button before it restarts, and if things have changed since last time I used...
So true.
I use Win 7 as my main, daily OS for 9+ hours a day, for 26 months on my Acer PC, and the ONLY crash was when my WD drive failed. Fanboys find any outlandish reasons to deride other...
Fair enough :)
I don't think I am "right", by the way - those were just my opinions, and noone is compelled to agree; I am a little more humble than that :)
Apple have an exemplary graphics team, whereas Ubuntu? I'll leave it with you that their graphics "design" decisions are arbitrary, at best. Orange and brown? mmmmm! Yummy ^_^
Linux and Android...
I take it you have seen Ubuntu's icons?
I take this with a ten ton truck of salt - this HAS to be a joke :D
As has been repeated *far* too many times, and likely will be far too many times...
It needs to be WAY less money than iOS or Android handsets of similar *hardware* spec, if it is to compete. Apart from the Utopian "It uses FOSS..." (blah blah), tell me why anyone would buy this...
My blatant sarcasm must have been missed there.
Wow! very inventive, Canonical. I mean, who'd have thought of running an OS on a phone?!
Genius! Tres bon!
I'll hold out until April the first; this could be an elaborate joke. If not, I...
Oh, ermm, wow.
lol.
