    You need to change the default button in the windows menu to have do sleep per default. You can also change what the power button does. Windows 7, if it can, when you sleep, does a hybrid-sleep...

    no they didn't.
    it doesn't hibernate user land.
    only kernel land (~50mb).

    restart does a cold cold boot now.

    They hibernate all the drivers and the kernel now, so only ~50 to 100mb of data needs to be loaded.

    <drive>:\Users\<my user>\appdata\Local\Temp
