Are there any 64-bit builds out there?
I was having the same problem until I blacklisted ipv6 in etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf. Open that file and add "blacklist ipv6" without the quotes, to the end of the file.
In cron you have to input the full path:

It might be that a previous session was saved that had Chrome running at the time. Close all applications, go to System->Preferences->Startup Applications, click the tab that says Options, check the...
You don't install a .jar file, you run it using java. First, check if you have java installed:
If you don't, install java:

I installed lucid on it's own partition, using my old home partition, and the desktop looks the same as it always has. If you retain gnome settings from distro to distro then what's the big deal?
I was having a problem maintaining a wired connection, similar to what is described on this thread. I was finally able to fix it by blacklisting ipv6 in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf.
I was struggling with this issue on a new install of 10.4 beta for a couple of days, and none of the fixes in the forums worked. Finally I blacklisted IPV6 and the wired connection is stable.

I am cutting and pasting from the top post, so I'm sure I haven't forgotten anything. However, I notice there are some errors at the end of the make command, which I don't know how to solve.
I just got a Pen and Touch CTH-460 and an trying to install it in 64-bit jaunty. I am following the instructions in post 1, but there is no wacom.ko file to copy over after the make install.
None of the suggestions worked for me. I ended up reinstalling an earlier version of Ubuntu.
This should fix it:
All permissions are the same. I'll try mucking about until it's fixed or I give up and install Intrepid.
