Re: Programming Language for Making Encryption?

I can assure you, this will not be for anything extensive or overly important. I want to make my own crypto solutions and I thought that maybe getting more hands-on experience would be good. And as...

Re: Programming Language for Making Encryption?

Yes, I have studied quite a bit of the Maths behind it. I have an idea that I want to attempt to implement.

Re: Programming Language for Making Encryption?

I already know some of the Maths behind it, I was just wondering if there was any Language that would be useful (for personal use), for making encryption methods.

Re: Programming Language for Making Encryption?

Cheers for the reply, but could you tell me, for instance? Python really doesn't cut it for me, because I have been attempting to use it with little success, for these purposes.

    Programming Language for Making Encryption?

Hey, which Programming Language would it be recommended to learn, if I wish to learn more about encryption and cryptology. I would like to use it to make my own methods of encryption?
  10. Re: Anyone got any ideas about how to do this in Python?

Cheers for both great replies. I have learnt a lot from this. :)
  11. Re: Anyone got any ideas about how to do this in Python?

Actually, scrap that. Can you change that to 'convert it to anything that will produce a number value, when encoded?' ie - 23394394934
  12. Anyone got any ideas about how to do this in Python?

Hey, does anyone know at all, how you would go about taking a string of text, that is stored in a variable, ie:

    z = raw_input("Enter Text here: ")

    to a Unicode Hex?
  13. Re: How would you go about becoming a Linux Administator?

Thanks for the ideas here, everybody. So it seems, if I really want to do this, then I would need to learn Perl. Bearing in mind, I've heard of Perl, but have no idea on any Syntax etc, what do I...
  14. Re: How would you go about becoming a Linux Administator?

I don't know really, I mean, I guess I'd like to do either the more traditional Administration, or the SQL-type Administration. What are the pros and cons of each one. And that code that you put in...
  15. Re: How would you go about becoming a Linux Administator?

Hello, and thank you for the replies you two. To be honest I don't like this Cloud Stuff, but do you really think that this is the way forwards? And how can Python be used in Administration, to me...
  16. How would you go about becoming a Linux Administator?

Hey, I was just wondering, I was thinking that maybe a career path I might to go down the lines of would be becoming a Linux Administrator.

Does anyone here know what I should learn/ be able to do...
  17. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

    Close, but no cigar :).
  18. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

Maybe I could write a Kernel in HTML5! :P Only joking, that would be impossible. And it's a Markup Language anyway.
  19. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

I'll write one for you in Visual Basic.NET :) or maybe COBOL :) I was going to say Delphi, but that might actually be possible?

Well, I'm going to try, and I'll guess you'll be seeing one more...
  20. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

What is the hype for, it's just a dialect of LISP!?
  21. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

Not one day, I mean figuratively, many days, weeks, months, years :P
  22. Re: Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

One day, if I'm feeling up to it, I might try to translate the entire Linux Kernel into Ada, (well as much of it as possible - the C and C++ bits, at least).

  24. Why isn't Ada used in Operating System Development?

I've seen speed tests, which conclude it has speeds that are comparable with Pascal and C. It also has vast protection from Buffer-Overloads, which means that surely, it should be the number 1 choice...
  25. Re: How do you find the Directory of the open Shell Script File?

I really need to learn Shell and PHP. Spent far too much time on C++ and Python.
