    It's working for me. But one note: I had to disable desktop effects in Gnome on Ubuntu. (A tab at the appearance settings).

    @S.R.: Normally, if a dvd or cd is in the player, the disk would be automatically mounted. If it is mounted you can't open the drive.

    Check that X11Forwarding is set to yes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.
