Yes, everything else that runs fullscreen is fine. But anything with OpenGL it seems, cuts off the lower 1/5 of the screen.

Um...you obviously didn't read my last post.
It's compiz that is producing the crackling. Why, I have no idea. Trust me I have already tried fiddling with ALSA settings, no effect.
I was aware of Diablo 1 graphical issues, but once you get in the game it runs just fine, but still with scaling issues.
But this isn't JUST Diablo, but several other OpenGL applications as well,...
Well I solved the problem. Guess what it was?
COMPIZ! :lolflag:
No joke, disabling compiz makes my speakers stop crackling for some reason. Oh well, I guess I just can't use compiz anymore.
I've tried every combination of those settings in 'nvidia-settings' with no luck.
I need Compiz to be disabled as it causes my USB speakers to start crackling for some reason whenever it is...
I too tried all combinations of those under nvidia-settings, also with no luck.
'Aspect Ratio Scaled' just puts garbage on my screen as well, which is bothersome to say the least.
Disabling...
I have been having this issue for about 2 years now, and I still have not been able to find an answer. I hope someone will help me this time around.
The issue is that in GFCEU (nintendo emulator)...
I actually believe this is an OpenGL problem, as that is the only thing that connects GFCEU, OpenMSX, Armagetron and Ibreakout2.
So what we need to figure out is how to correct OpenGL from...
I too have been having this issue for quite some time now, and I haven't been able to find an answer.
This happens to me with FCEU and OpenMSX amongst other gaming/emulation programs.
Can...
Oh, I'm bringing it back. Wayyyyy back. :)
Here it is, several years later, and I am still, having the same issue. Bum luck or what? I recently discovered The Hell mod, and decided to try it out,...
Ok just wait a second before I start adding MORE dirty hacks to my system.
I now have no start-up sounds at all. The volume control buttons on my laptop now only work to turn it down, not up. When...
I'm pretty sure it's possible, but I do not want to have to go to the command-line to do something this simple, that is ridiculous.
Any ideas?
That's what I thought it was! I've had sampling rate issues with Ubuntu Studio in the past, and this was VERY similar.
But, how do I change those settings? That thread did not help because it is...
Is it just an .iso file, or is there .bin/.cue? You said you tried 3 different files...
Go back to the other thread we had going, and install pSX, that should work for you just fine, if not, try...
All I'm trying to accomplish is connect videos of different formats (.flv, .avi, .mp4) into one file, and do some simple editing to cut out a couple seconds of each video, and add transitions (SIMPLE...
If you followed my instructions, it should be under Applications>Games on the menu toolbar.
Yup, all installed, problems are still here.
I'm pretty close to just giving up on 10.04 and downgrading to see if that fixes the problem. I kinda feel like this release was really rushed, and...
Hahaha, yeah basically. Should be fine if you power-cycle it by unplugging and re-plugging it back in.
If you are studying to get into computer sciences and programming, I suggest you brush up on...
No problems there.
I looked into it and it seems to be a DHCP problem with your internet. Either try and different network, or restart yours, should work fine after that.
That's great! You made it! =D>
But there is still an issue with your sources, as it was saying through the error messages. Go ahead and open a terminal and put in the following, then copy and...
No, unplugging does not seem to make a different. It SEEMED that way at first, but it started again and still does not stop.
I TRIED getting rid of Pulseaudio, but then I was unable to set the...
Wow, you're a great example of why "community" is a term loosely thrown around here, and you excuse it with "hit you because you hit me" mentality?
Rudeness is never NEEDED, simply because someone...
I'm still a bit confused as to what the issue was with ePSXe/pSX, please try to clarify, your posts are becoming quite broken as far as dialog.
What do you mean "Installs directly to games", do...
That's odd...it's working fine for me.
Ensure that in Software Sources there isn't two entries, one of which being incorrect. This will cause that to happen.
Again, my mistake, I am just forgetting everything today.
The URL is supposed to be:
deb http://ubuntu.global-web.us/karmic binary/
Make sure to include the 'deb' at the beginning, that...
