    I'm not quite sure what is happening anymore... I can't call the array by the proper name /dev/md/storage

    The only array I can see is missing 1 drive, and is apparently rebuilding.

    I think you have the wrong thread/section.

    If you want to change the permissions of files though try:

    # sudo chown --help

    and I think the command will look something like:

    # sudo chown -r...
