@rkmugen:
Nice to see you over on this list . . . adding your support here is great news for ppc users . . . but just wanted to say that "corrupted or incomplete downloads" don't happen on this...
@sacarde:
"Guided" is the choice made in the graphical installer to use the "automatic" install, after a number of times doing "manual" install I've found it's just easier to use "Guided, use...
imacppc:
I'm just punting here, I'm not booted in my Linux partition to check, but you didn't specifically mention that you added the wifi driver . . . probably some variation of b43, but in G3 it...
@sacarde:
You probably know more than I do, but I've done a fair number of installations on two G4 units . . . one thing, if you aren't doing "Guided" install you have to set up the "boot"...
Folks/rsavage:
I'm replying to this thread . . . to myself or my last post in this thread, because this thread had dropped to page 4 and the problem as I described with the reviving from suspend...
@tg4:
What you are saying does probably apply to dual boot within the same HD, but Gus has said that he has 2 HDs, one for OSX and one for "alternative" OSs. I have suggested that he try 12.04...
@gus:
I'm not a linux technician, but I have been checking this list and see that you have been trying to get something going for quite awhile . . . why it isn't working is a question mark. I...
@dgsa:
Welcome to Linux. If you just want the screen that has a working desktop, you probably have to find out which "Boot parameter" will work for your computer, and then that needs to be typed...
@matt_s:
Thanks again for the follow up and the link, that would solve the question of how to determine what gets added to the sources list, rather than adding it to the sources list and then...
@Matt:
Thanks very kindly for that thorough answer, I try to accept the advice that's given whenever possible. I did see that the Floating Feet were not part of the Xscreesaver package, but I...
Folks:
Based upon the amount of replies I'm assuming"It's not easy to get the Feets"?? So, I tried to install the MATE DE, but it didn't work, so I figured out that I don't have the LM...
Still hoping to get some direction on the Floating Feet . . . still trying to avoid the bloat of installing MATE, unless I have to. Went to the GNOME web site to try to find the Feet screensaver,...
Folks:
Just installed Xu 12.04 64 bit in my '09 MBPro, defecting from almost a year of LM13, due to an erratic cursor problem that couldn't be solved w/o turning off the touchpad . . . and of...
Matt:
That seems to describe the issue . . . a bit pressed for time right now, but I'll try to read thru the bug report tomorrow. I'm hoping that the problem was "erased" by switching the OS. I...
@Matt:
Just to let you know, to prevent you from wasting further time on thinking about this problem . . . I spent last evening zeroing out LM13 and using the somewhat unclear Alternate installer...
et al:
This conversations seems to have slowed a bit, but . . . my testing/use of the Xu 12.04 system continues, overall it's fine, for my iBook it seems to run a tad better with the LXDE . . ....
@Matt:
I was trying to post a further update in the LM "bug report" site . . . which doesn't seem to elicit any response, but I was typing anyway and the problem happened . . . so I'm pasting what...
Matt:
Well, thanks for trying as much as you did, much appreciated . . . I'll keep tracking the problem until it maybe becomes more reproducible . . . or, get tired of it.

Thanks for the reply . . . I don't know what's going on with the pastebinit . . . I think the internet here at work is not too fast. Thanks for the insight into caps lock, I didn't notice...
@matt_s:
So, I've posted the requested items, and in the interim I was playing around with disabling the touchpad . . . and I'd have to say that the problem didn't happen during that time, but...
@matt:
I guess it's Sunday all over the planet, hopefully you saw that I changed the first pastebinit link . . . perhaps there's nothing instructive there. I was thinking yesterday that it must...
@matt:
Sorry about that missing quote, I was in the forum, but I ran the command a number of times, must have missed it; I'm at work and have to . . . work as well as play. [Edit: I just ran sudo...
@matt_symes:
Thanks for the reply, hopefully I'm providing a reasonable amount of text. First thing, in OSX partition I do not have this problem, it's exclusive to LM13 MATE and the various DEs I...
