  1. Re: HOWTO: Amend your hosts file to block ads (by site)

    Thanks for the reply!

    Thanks for the continuous updates!

Quick question: have you checked the sites listed?
f.i. hidemyass.com is blocked, yet I was unaware that this is a problematic site.

I guess part of the list...

10.04 on my homepc has been a pain, but not from the begining though!
Only like for 2 months now.
But only at home. At work it is no problemo.

Might be related to dual-head setups?

My system really started acting up a few days ago. A couple of hangs and 1 reboot on one day.
After doing the disable CPU-Fan in bios it still had a problem, but so far it seems ok.

Re: HOWTO: Update from behind a proxy server

    Proxys are a PITA.
if you do it with apt/apt.conf you could do this:

    No authentication:
    Acquire::http::proxy "http://[proxy](:[port])/";

    with authentication:

I'd like to chime in as well. Been having some issues for some time now, though it only seems to have stared a little over 1-2 months ago.
Since my HW did not change, I fear it might be an OS issue....

Personally a feature I'd really like to see is the software running as a service and providing a web interface so that I can slap it on my 24/7 server and control it from the network.

    Re: Writing udev Rules

Small correction: I thought it was starting xmms2d, but that is not the case. But that seems to be more of an issue with launching stuff from the script then with the udev rules.

    1st off, great suggestion! Thanks

2nd I would not do it this way.
What I would do is apply the 127.0.0.1 -> 0.0.0.0 on the mvp file.

    download mvp file
