Re: HOWTO: Use NXclient to remotely control Ubuntu

    1) NX does not connect to an existing session. What you need is VNC for that.

    2) Transmitting sound via NX is also an issue I havent been able to figure out :(

    ATI Cards and Linux

I am planning on buying this laptop from Sony soon (probably by halloween). The only "problem" with it is that it only comes with an option of ATI cards. No nVidia available.

    FW-190 has a ATI 3470...

    [all variants] Re: Conky issues

    [all variants] Re: Conky issues

Once I mount the WD500 and start mpd, the errors stop appearing on my screen.

My question is, why does it keep checking for mpd and the mount point even if there are "if conditions" on it?

    [all variants] Conky issues

I have an 'if_running' clause for mpd and an 'if_mounted' clause for my external drive.

However, I think its not checking the conditions because I get these errors on my vc/1

  10. [ubuntu] Re: .run Files, GRUB, and I'm a newbie (gutsy)

You can use the Live CD and use the GParted program on it. It will give you a graphical way of resizing and moving your partitions.

Another option is to actually download and burn the GParted live...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: help with nvidia driver update problem.

A HTTP 404 error occurs when the file you requested does not exist on the server. You should probably try after some time and if that doesn't work, try a different mirror.

    Re: anyone else use openbox?

Yes Korrode, I always install using the minimal CD for Ubuntu. Or at least I did.

I was comparing a Ubuntu minimal install as against Debian business iso install with the same WM's installed.
