worked for me thanks!
edit: nevermind i thought u were talking about ipod touch.
try running in a terminal
are you by any chance using a laptop with a touchpad?
this bug happened to me and all i had to do was move the mouse with the touchpad and then the usb mouse would work again.
32 bit flash was crap so i found this thread
uninstalled 32 bit flash in synaptics
ran that script to install 64 bit
contrary to popular belief, ubuntu isn't really that great on old hardware. this is more true with each update.
if you want to use it on an older computer i would go with the 8.04 version,...
what worked for me just now was to go into the mixer and hit the "Switches" tab and then put a check in the box for "audigy analog/digital output jack"
i dont know why this works but it does.
that fixed it for me ! im on 8.04. ):P
the way i fixed mine was to use ALSA for microphone...all the others didn't work at all. so i use ALSA and had to tick AUTO GAIN CONTROL that sorta helped I think.
coming from one who's used both, i would go with 32 bit (using it now). 64 bit has to use a flash plugin wrapper that makes flash stuff slow and buggy.
I had the crazy polygon issue as well when going indoors to outdoors.
The registry hack fixed that.
Heres how I have it working:
latest ATI driver installed via envyg -t
took out Disable...
this is what made it work for me (first page tutorial + this)
sudo apt-get install fglrx-control
then you have the ati catalyst control center
then in there it should show both displays
worked for me on dell e1505 / ati x1400
the way i got it to install was to just use the amdccle package in the package manager. not sure what version it is but i think its pretty new. this is on hardy heron.
well it didnt work that good so just usin the web based works fine.
hey thanks dude i put linux on our home machine and my mom uses yahoo messenger and id hate to have to make her figure out pidgin (she tried before and didntl ike it ) :)
you guys really think its easy? i mean i like the functionality of it and the look and feel but when something breaks...not so easy sometimes.
i used the gutsy daily today and x1400 worked on its own after installing.
