I have the same problem, but running peppermint.

checks so far are that script is:
- a regular file
- owned by root
- not writeable by group or other
- not setuid
- executable by...

For anyone still trying to find a reason for this, I found that i didn't have perms for the dir i was trying to mount to.

because of that I tried to 'sudo' the command.

that was my problem.

no, I think that's the point of the thread.... there is no entry for unknown linux partition. just when updating grub.

at least that's the prob i have, so that's how i read it.

am i wrong?

I have the same problem, have googled and update-grub2'd and reinstalled grub, but nothing seems to tell me how to get grub to offer the partition.

update-grub does, incidentally, see...

Not sure this is true (sorry), I have not medibuntu, but have installed the gstreamer...-bad-multiverse an the gstreamer...-ugly-multiverse packages and it works perfectly.
