ubuntu 11.01 doesnt play amy sounds, says it needs g.... files to play them, when i select them and say ok then the update manager crashes.

Without playthro, it records fine, i can replay what i played on guitar fine, good quality, but i wan to be able to hear what i am...

When i record my guitar sound, it records but i cant hear what i am playing.

How can i hear what i amplaying .

Hi I just downloaded ubuntu studio 9.04.
Is it same as ubuntu 9.04 (but with music related softwares added to it) or its a different distro from ubuntu alltogether?

yes the second one is the one i am talking about. I have the installer cd of ubuntu 9.04 , it installs fine but in the end gives error.

I tried installing ubuntu withing windows xp sp3, and get this some permission denied, see log ..... something.. wrror.

How can i install it pl withing windows.

Hi i just installed ubuntu 9 on xp sp2, it installs fine, but when I reboot it does not show up in boot menu options or in start menu options after xp has booted.
