Just built the latest gnome-shell and discovered that I can't see all my desktops in the Overview - not much of an overview then is it!

After about a year with GS, I think I've had...

I upgraded from 9.10 so was able to boot with an older kernel - not ideal but pretty good.

You mean should you mix versions of related packages? No I wouldn't do that. If the original supplier says that package A and package B should be at the same rev level then just accept that.
